MASTER YOUR CRAFT

AN INTENSIVE IN ADVANCED ACTING SKILLS WITH PETER KALOS

THE PHILOSOPHY

Many actors can name the tools of acting: objective, substitution, given circumstances, inner monologue, personalisation, finding the line, breaking down the script. Knowing the terms isn't the same as using them. I don't teach you what to do in one scene. I teach you the tools, so you can walk into any role and know what to do. Master Your Craft turns those concepts into skills you can use in the moment, on your feet, with real text. This is not a lecture. Every session is live, and built around doing — not watching.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Four sessions over four weeks. Two hours each. Live, every time. Everyone works at the same time, on their own, microphones off — so you spend the session acting, not waiting your turn. I move between you and give individual notes.

  • Week One — Jump In. You start by working, not by listening. One full exercise asks you to use every core tool at once. Then we take apart exactly what you did, and why it worked.

  • Week Two — The Tools. Place, personalisation, reality and imagination, and being specific. Each one is practised directly on a monologue, so the tool and the text become one.

  • Week Three — Beyond Yourself. Music, memory and imagination push you into extreme choices you would never find sitting with a script. You learn to go further than feels safe, and keep it truthful.

  • Week Four — See What You've Built. You perform three film scenes, then perform them again using every tool from the course. The difference is the proof: the acting muscles you've built.

  • Closing — Each week builds directly on the last. By the end, you'll have a craft you can return to alone, on any role, for the rest of your career.

LOGISTICS

Delivered live via Zoom — not pre-recorded, not self-paced
Small group capped at 15 actors, to keep the work personal
Camera on; full attention expected — this is a working room, not a webinar
Homework between sessions — this is where a lot of the real work happens
Open to working actors at a professional or semi-professional level. This isn't for beginners — it's for actors who already have skills and want to elevate them.
